March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and honor the incredible contributions of women throughout history. From pioneering leaders and innovators to everyday heroes, women have shaped and continue to shape our world in profound ways. Let’s take this month to recognize their achievements, reflect on the progress we’ve made, and renew our commitment to advancing gender equality for future generations.
In celebration, I am hosting an essay contest for high school and middle school Wethersfield students! They are invited to write about the women who have inspired them and the impact of women’s contributions on society.
Students may choose one of the following prompts:
- Who is the most influential woman in your life today and why?
- Who is your favorite woman in history and why?
The 1st place essay will receive $100 and two runner ups will receive $50 each and a special CT General Assembly recognition.
