COVID-19 Updates and Resources

May 11, 2020

I hope you all were able to enjoy some sunshine this weekend and celebrate the mothers in your life. As Connecticut begins to take steps towards opening more of our businesses, there are a number of questions about how that can occur safely. On Saturday Governor Lamont, guided by the work of the Re-Open CT committee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner David Lehman, announced required criteria for reopening.

The first phase is slated to take effect beginning May 20th and includes restaurants, offices, hair salons and barbershops, retail stores, and outdoor museums and zoos.

Documents containing the rules for the first phase of reopening, along with schematic drawings, have been published on the state’s coronavirus website and are available to download directly at these links:

All businesses subject to these rules will be required to self-certify prior to opening on May 20. The certification system will be online beginning next week.

Virtual Town Hall Recap

Thank you to all of you who were able to join First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick and the Fairfield delegation Friday for our Virtual Town Hall. Besides updates and information, you can hear more about some of our perspectives on the questions posed by members of the public. If you still have unanswered questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

National Prevention Week

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this week is National Prevention Week. For information and resources, go to Fairfield CARES, the town’s designated local prevention council. CT Clearinghouse is offering these two programs, one offered by my friend Brandon Nappi of Copper Beech Institute. I have taken Brandon’s classes over the years and can highly recommend his teaching.
