Heating Assistance Deadline

Connecticut residents who need help paying last winter’s home heating bills still have time to apply to the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP).

The deadline of Monday, June 1 gives eligible families and individuals – including those impacted by the COVID-19 crisis – more time to apply for this vital assistance.

To apply, applicants should contact the community action agency serving their region, or partnering intake sites around the state. To find the nearest application site, people should call 2-1-1 or visit www.ct.gov/staywarm

Reopening Connecticut

On Tuesday, Governor Lamont released his Reopen Connecticut report. The report contains recommendations from the Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group – the panel of local health, business, workforce, and education experts who provided the administration and legislative leadership with recommendations on the reopening of the state's economy and education system.

Governor Lamont has been using the advisory group’s recommendations, along with inputs from state agencies, legislators, and other stakeholders, to inform his decisions on the reopening of the state.

With the release of the report, the Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group has adjourned its activities and will no longer meet. However, the governor said he will remain in contact with its members over the coming months as the situation continues to develop.
