Positivity for the Future

“As we tragically have passed 100,000 Mark in deaths in the United States of America, we do see some reduction in cases on the East Coast but not necessarily the case throughout other areas in the USA. The most important thing we can do in Waterbury and the state of Connecticut is continue to test, everyone especially those most vulnerable communities!” - State Rep. Geraldo Reyes

Have you Lost your Health Insurance?

Amid all the challenges we are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic, concerns about social distancing and stay-at-home measures, the loss of health insurance shouldn't be one of them.

I am pleased to report that, in response to the unprecedentedly high unemployment rate, the Office of the Health Care Advocate (OHA) has created materials intended to help Connecticut individuals and families who have lost (or are about to lose) their health insurance.

For more information go to the OHA website. They also offer free, expert assistance and advice at any time - their helpline is (866) 466-4446 or you can send an email.

COVID-19 Testing

Connecticut residents can now easily find COVID-19 testing locations throughout the state.

By going to the United Way of Connecticut's website, you will find locations, the requirements of each testing site, hours of operation and more.

With phase 2 of reopening scheduled for June 20, boosting testing capacity is essential to public health and restoring our economy.

All individuals, with or without symptoms, can be tested but all individuals must complete a telemedicine evaluation before a test is scheduled.

Roadwork in Waterbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime resurfacing project will be performed on State Road 846 (Watertown Ave) from Route 8 northbound access to Route 73 in Waterbury – Sunday, June 7, through Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect delays and one-way alternating traffic.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
