Free Masks for CT Residents

The first phase of Connecticut's Reopening Plan begins tomorrow. A number of businesses will open their doors for the first time since March, and bottle redemption services will return. 

While this will be a welcomed change of pace, please stay vigilant, practice social distancing, wash your hands regularly, and wear a face covering. The next phases of the state's plan to reopen are contingent upon several factors, such as hospitalization rates, testing, and more.

COVID-19 Update

As of Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., 38,430 cases of COVID-19 have been reported among Connecticut residents. Day-to-day changes reflect newly reported cases, deaths, and tests that occurred over the last several days to week. All data in this report are preliminary; data for previous dates will be updated as new reports are received and data errors are corrected. Connecticut insurance commissioner reminds that all insureds are eligible for no-cost COVID-19 testing and treatment

Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Andrew N. Mais is reminding all insured Connecticut residents that all out-of-pocket costs for testing and treatment of COVID-19 have been removed. It should also be noted that public health coverage is available to Connecticut residents who qualify.

Sector Rules for Phase 1 of Reopening

Connecticut leaders are working towards the goal of reopening the state safely and securely with clear rules set for businesses to safeguard the health of all residents. Phase 1 begins May 20 and the rules include detailed information and requirements about physical distancing, hygiene, sanitizing, personal protective equipment (PPE), scheduling, training, and more. Return of Bottle Redemption Services

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is reminding individuals that bottle deposit recycling is returning May 20. Please be aware of the new rules, limits, and hours of operation.

Masks for CT

On Thursday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Masks for CT in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven will distribute masks at Yale West Campus, 100 West Campus Drive, in Orange, to members of the general public for personal use. 

Volunteers will place bags directly into open trunks to maintain social distancing and health guidelines.
