Phase 3 Delayed

Phase 3 Reopening Delayed

Although Connecticut has done a great job containing the COVID virus, cases are spiking in other parts of the country that have loosened quarantine restrictions. As a precaution, Phase 3 for reopening the state has been delayed indefinitely. Click here for more information.

Travel Advisory

Eight Additional States Added to Regional Travel Advisory

The regional travel advisory between Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York that went into effect and directs incoming travelers from states with a significant community spread of COVID-19 to self-quarantine for a 14-day period was updated and now includes 8 additional states for a total of 16. The quarantine applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a 7-day rolling average or a state with a 10 percent higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average. This list will be updated on a regular basis as the situation develops across the country. For more information on the travel advisory, click here.

Campgrounds Open

Campgrounds Open

All Connecticut campgrounds have officially begun a phased opening. Campers must make reservations in advance of their stay and walk-in visitors will not be permitted on the sites. For more information and to reserve your spot, click here.

Paycheck Protection Plan Extended

The federal government has extended the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) until August 8, 2020, and is now accepting applications once again. As a reminder, these loans carry a five year maturity if provided after June 5, 2020. Payments may be deferred for six months. Loans are forgivable provided the funds are used for payroll costs, interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities.

Census Reminder

It is vitally important that every person in Connecticut gets counted in the 2020 Census. Without a full count, your school's lunch and special education programs could get cut. Your fire department may not have the equipment to be prepared in the face of disaster. Vital healthcare services that the most vulnerable depend on could face rollbacks. AB Ballots

Absentee Ballots

The Secretary of the State recently mailed out applications to all registered Democrats and Republicans to provide individuals the opportunity to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming presidential primary. This measure will protect your safety and right to vote during the ongoing pandemic.

Election Volunteers

Election Day Volunteers

Recognizing the unique challenges related to COVID-19, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill has announced a statewide effort to recruit poll workers for Connecticut’s primary and general elections. If you are interested in working at the polls, click here:
