Special Session & Travel Restrictions

July 21, 2020
Earlier today the House leadership announced that the House will be called into session on Thursday at 11:00 am. Much attention has been given to the bill on police accountability, but there will be three other bills on Telehealth, Insulin costs and access to No-Excuse Absentee Balloting.
Today's GAE Hearing

With COVID still proposing an unsure future for us all, absentee voting is vital to maintaining your rights come this November. As our Secretary of the Sate Denise Merrill has emphasized many times, no voter should have to choose between their health and their vote.

Throughout this afternoon, the Government Administration and Elections Committee, of which I am a member, has heard testimony from dozens of members of the public. Along with the overwhelming majority of those testifying, I expressed my support for no-excuse absentee voting both in this bill and for future elections. You can listen in to the full meeting here.

DOT Survey

Earlier today, I attended the AAA forum where The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Public Transportation (CTDOT) discussed a survey it is conducting of Connecticut commuters about changes to their commutes, as well as their thoughts on commuting when returning to work in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The brief online survey will allow CTDOT to collect basic data about current and projected commuting habits, and how commuters foresee their commutes when returning to work.

The survey can be accessed through Monday, July 27th here.
