"It is a pleasure to name Mike, once again, as General Law chair," said Speaker-designate Ritter. "He brings the right mix of experience and leadership to the Committee. Mike is ready to work across the aisle on important legislation this upcoming session."

The General Law Committee has cognizance on matters related to consumer protection, fair trade and sales practices, medical cannabis and alcohol regulation, and oversight of certain occupational licenses.

Majority Leader Rojas said, "Rep. D'Agostino is able to build the bipartisan support needed to move legislation through the process. He is always fully prepared with a detailed knowledge of the issues and roadmap to get bills passed."

"I am grateful to Matt and Jason for this assignment and I'm ready to continue to work on legislation protecting Connecticut consumers, especially in the time of the pandemic, and expanding economic opportunities by streamlining regulations," said D'Agostino. "The General Law committee members have always worked in a bi-partisan fashion on a variety of issues and we will continue to do so. We also expect to play a central role in expanding our existing medical cannabis industry and establishing a new retail cannabis market so that Connecticut can compete with other Northeast states that have now gotten ahead of us in this growing area."

Announcement of Rep. D'Agostino's re-appointment was at Connecticut Pharmaceutical Solutions in Rocky Hill. Thanks to Michael Fedele, CT Pharma's chairman of the board, and Rino Ferrarese, president and COO for hosting the event.
