Rep. Morrin Bello Sworn In

January 6, 2021

Amy Morrin Bello (D-Wethersfield) was officially sworn in today as the State Representative from the 28th House District in a morning ceremony outside the State Capitol.

This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the legislature held outdoor swearing-in ceremonies as the 2021 Legislative Session gets underway.

“I am honored to start this journey as a state legislator, superseding my good friend and public servant Russ Morin,” said Rep. Morrin Bello. “While today's ceremony was much different than usual due to safety protocols and guidelines, the excitement and privilege to begin working on behalf of my constituents was one of a kind. I am also encouraged by the increased female representation and am ready to tackle the challenges ahead of us."

Rep. Morrin Bello will serve on the Government Administration and Elections, Internship and Transportation Committees.

"These committee assignments reflect some of the areas of concern that were brought to me as I spoke to constituents in the district," Morrin Bello said. "I am committed to be a strong voice in Hartford and to push forward initiatives important to all our residents, including advocacy for public education and improving our economic outlook."

Rep. Morrin Bello urges local residents to contact her at the Capitol: 860-240-8585 or Amy.MorrinBello@cga.ct.gov or visit her state web page at: https://www.housedems.ct.gov/MorrinBello any time with their opinions on pending legislation, ideas for enhancing State Government, or if assistance is needed navigating any issues with state agencies.  "Listening to my constituents is my top priority and I hope to continue hearing from many of them," Rep. Morrin Bello said.
