Face Mask Requirements for East Hartford Facilities

August 2, 2021

Effective today, August 2, the Town of East Hartford is reinstituting face mask requirements for all employees and visitors regardless of their vaccination status. The facemask requirement applies to all Town facilities. This change comes following the CDC’s revised mask mandate to maximize protection from the Delta variant in response to an increased infection rate.

Individuals visiting Town of East Hartford facilities must wear a facemask at all times. Remote services are available online, by phone and via drop box for those who are unable to comply with the mask requirements. Information on remote services is available on the Town website at www.easthartfordct.gov or by calling the Town Hall at 860-291-7100.

“As we enter this new stage of the pandemic, it is imperative that we do not let our guard down,” said Mayor Marcia Leclerc. “Please wear a facemask, get tested if you are exposed to a person with COVID-19, and follow quarantine and isolation guidelines to prevent further spread to others, and get vaccinated to protect yourself and your loved ones.”

Additionally, the East Hartford Health Department strongly encourages all businesses and organizations to comply with the CDC’s universal mask mandate in public indoor settings to reduce the risk of exposure and transmission.

A growing body of evidence indicates that fully vaccinated people are less likely to become infected with COVID-19 and transmit it to others. Please be advised that the Health Department continues to offer free and accessible vaccination clinics throughout town. If you have not received your vaccination, there is still time to do so.
