The Connecticut Department of Transportation was awarded a grant from the Federal Transit Administration for the purchase of ten battery electric buses and ten DC fast chargers.
| The new buses will be given to the CTtransit Waterbury division, making it the first bus facility in the state capable of running a 100% battery electric bus transit fleet. These buses are not only environmentally friendly, but they also provide our transit system with a much needed update.
I hope that this is a first step of many. Thanks again to the Biden administration, Governor Lamont, and the Connecticut Congressional Congress for the their continued dedication to fighting climate change and improving local transportation. |
