COVID-19 District Newsletter

Our communities have faced devastating hardship, but brighter and stronger days lie ahead if all are vaccinated and protected from the new variants. With this administration in the White House, Connecticut has a unique opportunity to leverage federal funding and invest in public health to put us on a path to full recovery. I’ve highlighted a few proposals that House Democrats have advanced out of our budget committees, along with a few items that I’m personally endorsing. COVID RESPONSE UPDATE:

  • Fully Funding our Local Health Districts
  • Providing an additional $80 million to nonprofits who have been on the frontlines, providing essential work during this pandemic
  • Investing additional resources in our nursing homes
  • Improving medical care and staffing in our prisons
  • Regulating and covering pulse oximeters
  • Investing in private research and development
  • Supporting our research universities and hospitals
  • Public information about accuracy of pulse oximeters
