Danbury High School Among 40 Selected Statewide to Participate in FAFSA Challenge

November 3, 2021

Danbury High School was selected among 40 high schools statewide to participate in the 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Challenge. Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker made the announcement today.

The Challenge, in its second year, is designed to increase FAFSA completion rates, improve postsecondary access, and close opportunity gaps among high school students.

Participating schools will pilot innovative strategies to help students and families complete the FAFSA and access resources to support college affordability.  Through the Challenge, schools will receive microgrants to pursue strategies to build awareness around the FAFSA and support families in completing the application.
