Juvenile Criminal Justice: A Deeper Dive
On Tuesday, January 25th, at 7pm, Rep. McCarthy Vahey will be hosting a Deeper Dive discussion into our juvenile justice system with detectives from the Fairfield Police Department, as well as criminal justice professor and former OPM Undersecretary for Criminal Justice, Mike Lawlor.

I hope you'll join us as we continue this conversation from our previous panel, so we can further understand the breakdown between what our law allows and what our law enforcement is experiencing on the ground. You can register for the Zoom panel by clicking the button below or you can watch the live stream on my Facebook page

Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
This morning, I attended the 49th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade Press Conference as a member of the newly formed Reproductive Rights Caucus. As we reflect on this historic Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion and protected woman's freedom and autonomy, we also must recognize the anti-abortion restrictions that are being codified into state laws across the country.

Access to safe abortion services is critically important to protecting the health and freedom of women. I look forward to working with my fellow legislators in the 2022 session to bring forth legislation that will ensure we do not turn back the clock on women's rights here in Connecticut.

Grant Opportunities for Women-Owned Businesses
Exciting news for women-owned businesses! The Women's Business Development Council is now accepting applications for the Equity Match Grant Program which awards up to $10,000 to Connecticut women-owned business projects to help with growth and profitability.

To date, the Equity Match Program has distributed nearly 100 grants totally $900,000. If you are interested in applying or know someone who may be interested, visit ctwbdc.org.
