Discussion on Solutions to Gun Violence

I was happy to join State Representative Eleni Kavros DeGrawSenator Chris MurphyMoms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and other advocates for a discussion earlier this week about keeping our communities safe from gun violence.

While Connecticut has made strides in recent years to cut down on  gun violence, there is still more to do on the intervention side that would prevent even more gun deaths. I also want to thank all the advocates who joined us, as well as the members of our community who are concerned about this who also joined our conversation.

COVID-19 and Children's Mental Health

Join me on Wednesday, February 2nd for the first in my series of discussions titled "Let's Talk About It: Covid and Children's Mental Health", which I will be doing in collaboration with the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

Our first discussion will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on Facebook Live (simply visit my Facebook page  and the live video will appear near the top of my page). I will be joined by various experts to discuss and answer your questions, what signs to look out for, as well as resources for children, parents and caregivers.

The mental health and well-being of our children is a topic I care passionately about and will be a top priority for me during the upcoming legislative session. I hope you will join us on Wednesday for what I think will be a very illuminating discussion surrounding this very urgent and timely topic.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

At this time of rising antisemitism and hatred, it is important for us to remember the lessons of the Holocaust and pay tribute to its victims and survivors.

As we honored International Holocaust Remembrance Day earlier this week, I join with the United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum, people of the Jewish faith, and individuals around the world to remember the victims of Nazi persecution.
