February is Black History Month

February 3, 2022

We celebrate the achievements, accomplishments and contributions Black Americans have made to this country, of which there are many, each February during National Black History Month. President Gerald Ford made it official in 1976.

February is Black History Month. As we spend the month honoring and celebrating the contributions of Black Americans, we also recommit to working towards a more equitable and just future. Throughout the month, CT House Democrats will be amplifying and honoring the voices and stories of the individuals that have worked to shape our state.
