Anticipated Sale of the Wintergreen School Building
The Town of Hamden has announced the tentative sale of the old Wintergreen School Building for $16 million.
The pending closing date for the sale is June 1st, 2022, but the anticipation of this infusion of funds is exciting news for Hamden.
Coupled with the federal ARPA dollars being allocated to Hamden, these funds will allow the Town to address shortfalls without the need to borrow money.
I applaud Mayor Lauren Garrett and her team in completing these negotiations on terms quite favorable to the Town. Mayor Garrett says she is committed to utilizing this expected revenue to fund a number of projects in our community that have sadly been ignored due to extenuating circumstances. Of course, my office will also continue to support those efforts with additional state bonding.
