Upcoming Community Updates

March 30, 2022

This past Tuesday was Vietnam Veterans Day. As the wife, daughter, and granddaughter of Veterans, I am committed to providing the supports and resources needed for our veterans’ mental health and wellness. Below is information for an online forum for Veterans and those who support them, as well as information on a number of community events held by the Fairfield Public Library, Center for Family Justice, and Fairfield Rotary.

I hope you will join me Friday, April 1st from 10AM - 12PM, for a virtual summit on preventing veteran suicide. This topic is near and dear to my heart, so I am honored to join expert and fellow legislators to talk about how we can create policy to keep those safe who protect us every day. Click here or the image above to join us for the event.

Fairfield Public Library
Next Sunday, April 10, come play mini-golf at The Fairfield Public Library!

No registration is required, you can pay at the door or purchase a family admission ticket in advance. $5 per person/$20 per family. All proceeds to benefit the Fairfield Public Library.

Walk a Mile
Please join us for The Center for Family Justice's (CFJ)10th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® (WAM) as they return to an in-person event on Saturday, April 23 at 9AM at the Fairfield Train Station Main Lot. You can register by clicking here, or on the image above.

Funds raised from the walk will support Elizabeth M. Pfriem Camp HOPE America - Bridgeport, CFJ’s evidence-based summer camp and year-long engagement and mentoring program for young people ages 7-17 who have experienced the trauma of domestic and/or sexual violence.

Shred Fest
This year, the Fairfield Rotary will host Shred Fest next Saturday, April 9 from 9AM - 1PM in the St. Pius X Parish parking lot. This is a great opportunity to dispose of any old documents in a Safe & Secure way right on site.

It is $10/box or $15/large box and all the proceeds support local charity.
