REPS. MORRIN BELLO & WOOD APPLAUD $4 MILLION GRANT APPROVED FOR WETHERSFIELD

Hartford, CT – State Representatives Amy Morrin Bello (D-Wethersfield) and Kerry Wood (D- Newington, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield) applauded the approval of a $4 million grant for Wethersfield by Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission during their meeting today at the Legislative Office Building.

The funding is included in a larger allocation through the Department of Economic & Community Development to improve communities and assist with local projects.

"I am grateful to the state for including this funding for our town on today's agenda to help with street lighting, public parking, infrastructure improvements and necessary updates to our public library," Rep. Morrin Bello said. "All the planned projects are priorities for us as they will improve safety, convenience and enhance our town's overall appeal for residents and visitors alike."

"It's been such a pleasure to work with my legislative colleagues representing Wethersfield as well as town officials and staff,” said Rep. Wood. “Our team has made great strides when lobbying the state for much-needed bonding dollars for the town."

"I would like to thank Governor Lamont and the state's Bond Commission for approving these grants to our town," said Wethersfield Mayor, Michael Rell. "The legislative delegation worked hard to get these in front of the decision members, and I look forward to the new expanded spaces in the library, along with street and parking improvements to better handle motorists and pedestrians enjoying what our town has to offer."

Rep. Morrin Bello noted, "I am honored to work alongside my colleagues in our legislative delegation and grateful for our collaboration to secure this funding."
