Today, we are in session at the Capitol. In addition to voting on judges, we are also voting on a measure to keep local meetings accessible online. I've heard from many of you that not only have you found it a convenient way to know what's going on in local meetings, but it's also a great recruiting tool for people who want to serve but can't always get to a meeting in person.

As a reminder, we are in the middle of tax-free week for clothing and shoes. I hope you will be able to take advantage of this for yourself or your family.

I'll be hosting an event at the Canton Community Center for Seniors and you'll find more details on that below.

Finally, the CGA Kickball was a success both from the standpoint of camaraderie and donations for Connecticut Foodshare. We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon and my hats off to Team Stampede for their win.

As we only have a few weeks left, I hope to hear from you on the issues you care about. And, please let me know how I can be helpful in the future,

REMINDER: SALES TAX FREE WEEK CONTINUES THROUGH SATURDAY
This is just a reminder about the additional Sales Tax Free Week that began Sunday and ends this Saturday, April 16. If your kids are home on spring vacation, this is a great opportunity to save on their spring and summer wardrobe.

During this one-week sales tax holiday, retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items under $100 will be exempt from Connecticut's sales tax.
Many retailers in Connecticut offer additional clothing and footwear discounts during Sales Tax Free Week, resulting in even more savings for shoppers.

You can learn more about Connecticut’s Sales Tax Free Week, including a list of tax exempt items,

REPUBLICANS DEFEAT DEMOCRATS IN FIRST-EVER CGA KICKBALL GAME, CONNECTICUT FOODSHARE REAL WINNER
While my team, Majority Rules, didn't bring home the win, we had a great time during the first-ever CGA Kickball Classic and Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford Monday.

I was proud to have coordinated this event with my good friends and colleagues State Representatives Corey Paris (D-Stamford), Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-Beacon Falls/Derby/Seymour) and Joe Polletta (R-Watertown/Oakville/Woodbury).

We're still counting but, so far, we raised $2,000 and the Yard Goats will match that donation. We are still collecting from our colleagues and staff that were unable to make it to the game. Check presentation to come in May!

Rep. Paris put a bow on the event before session started today, acknowledging the winners across the aisle. CTNewsjunkie had a good article on the game and of course, the good cause. You can access it

VISITING WITH FOCUS CENTER FOR AUTISM STUDENTS
I had a great short visit with Focus Center for Autism students last week and was super impressed that each and every one of them is registered to vote. Many of them will be voting for the first time this November. They had so many great questions!
