Three Local Farms Awarded Farm Transition Grants

I am so happy to share that three farms in our district have recently been awarded Farm Transition Grants from the Connecticut Department of Agriculture!
The Farm Transition Grant Program distributes $515,953 to 33 farms across the state to expand, diversify and improve existing operations.

Moss Creek Farm has been awarded a grant to be used for the greenhouse and irrigation for a medicinal herb farm.
 
Hollandia Nurseries has been awarded a grant to purchase and install ECHO irrigation systems to five greenhouses.  
 
Holbrook Farm is being awarded a grant in the new farmer category, to be used for a cold frame greenhouse.
