November is Military Family Appreciation Month

November 11, 2022
I hope this message finds you and yours well.

November 11 is Veterans Day.  Today, we honor the brave men and women in uniform.

Millions of individuals have served our nation in one of the branches of the military. Whether in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, their patriotic duty required great sacrifice and I am forever grateful for their service.

Today, I attended Veteran's Day ceremonies at the Mead School, the Derby Green, and the Ansonia Veterans Memorial Park. You can see pictures from these events below. Thank you to the organizers, and most of all a thank you to our veterans.

In this week's update, you'll find information about the economic impact of expanded rail service in our community. resources for the family members of military members, and more.

If there's something you need assistance with or want to speak with me about, please don't hesitate to reply to this email or reach out to me at Kara.Rochelle@cga.ct.gov.

NOVEMBER IS MILITARY FAMILY APPRECIATION MONTH
November is Military Family Appreciation Month. Military life can be very stressful on families. Long separations, frequent moves, inconsistent training schedules, late nights in the office and the toll of mental and physical injuries on both the service member and the family can all add up over time.

I'll be sharing helpful resources and opportunities for military families in Connecticut all through the month. Stay tuned!

ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF RAIL EXPANSION
The Waterbury Rail Line is key to the economic growth of the Valley. We have made real advancements in recent years, including increased service, and securing state and federal funds for the modernization of our stations in Ansonia and Derby. When drawings are available I’ll be sure to share them with you all. Step by step, we are making real progress here.
