Waterbury Arts Organizations Receive State Funding
The arts have an important role to play in the development and well-being of any community. So, I am thrilled that $78,000 in state dollars, from the CT Humanities Cultural Relief Grants, are coming to Waterbury to support our community. Beyond the cultural and personal benefits, investments in the arts can also lead to job creation and economic growth.
Studies have shown that when arts organizations thrive, they can attract visitors, generate revenue for local businesses, and even spur real estate development in surrounding areas. Additionally, exposure to the arts can have a positive impact on education and social development, particularly for children.
I have always been a huge supporter of the arts, and this investment can provide a much-needed boost to Waterbury. These organizations will have the opportunity to continue their valuable work and hopefully expand in the community.
