We need to support our daycare and early childhood centers in Waterbury and around the state. On Wednesday, I joined about 100 other people on a cold, windy morning to advocate for more access to high-quality and affordable child care.

This demonstration was part of a statewide initiative called "Morning Without Childcare." Many advocates were outside their classrooms, rallying for more funding, better pay, and support for their children. 

We talk about economic development and jobs all the time. A healthy local economy thrives when our children are safe and well provided for. Let’s invest in early childhood providers so that parents can return to the workforce and have confidence their children will grow and develop with their peers.
