Education Agency Moves to Waterbury

May 3, 2023

The city of Waterbury is celebrating the arrival of the State Education Resource Center (SERC). The move not only brings new life to our neighborhood but also more services to our public schools.

Organizers cut the ribbon on the new headquarters last week at the former Timexpo Museum right here in the 75th district near the school district's central office, right off I-84.

SERC is a quasi-public education agency that moved to Waterbury from Middletown this year. Officials tell me they are thrilled to join our community. SERC is based in a three-story brick building on Union Street inside the Brass Mill Commons shopping center.

The new employees are already revitalizing the building, which had been empty for several years. CLICK HERE to learn more SERC’s move and impact in Waterbury.

SERC supports educational equity and social justice. It provides professional development and best practices to educators, service providers, and families throughout the state.
