Hill-Stead Museum Awarded Grant

April 13, 2016

Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington was recently awarded a $50,000 grant through Connecticut Humanities. Monthly grants like these help support important humanities-based programs throughout the state. Connecticut Humanities is an organization that distributes money allocated by the Connecticut legislature through a highly competitive, merit-based grant application process.

This grant will help fund the Museum’s Sunken Garden Poetry Festival. The Festival includes five evenings of poetry over the summer, featuring readings by emerging local poets, a musical performance, and writing workshops. Guests of this year’s Festival will include U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, Pulitzer Prize winner Heather McHugh, Ed Hirsch, Kwame Dawes, and U.S. Army Veteran Brian Turner. Congratulations to the Hill-Stead Museum on this well-deserved grant! More information on the Festival is available here.
