I was thrilled to see New London will receive the full reimbursement of $4 million for abatement and demolition work on a renovation project at New London High School.
The funds were initially not covered by the state, but with the passage of HB 6942, the project is eligible for reimbursement of previously ineligible costs.
The New London High School’s renovation project seeks to expand the school’s north campus from 173,900 square feet to 290,765 square feet, with completion expected in the fall of 2023.
The renovated building will house a magnet arts program for students in grades 6-12 and high school magnet STEM and International Baccalaureate programs.
This has been a heavy undertaking for the city of New London, and I can’t wait to see the results for our students and entire community. |
