Advocating for More Maternal Health Resources

On Monday, I joined Senator Richard Blumenthal and local advocates of maternal health to talk about the high rates of maternal mortality that women in this country face, especially Black women. Sen. Blumenthal is pushing for $1 billion to put towards resources to solve the Black maternal health crisis in Connecticut and the U.S.

The rates of maternal mortality are deeply alarming, especially those of Black women who are significantly more likely to die or experience pregnancy complications. Every mom deserves a safe, healthy pregnancy no matter their race, zip code or economic status.
