Tour of WSHU
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of touring our local NPR affiliate WSHU Public Radio, located in a beautiful new studio on the Sacred Heart University campus. Being the major NPR nerd that I am, meeting Tom Kuser, the host of Morning Edition, felt like a celebrity spotting! It was so inspiring to see studios named after the members of our community who have donated to ensure we continue to have access to fact-based, objective news reporting.

With local print media drying up, our local NPR news reporting is even more important. We spent a lot of time talking passionately about the role of journalism in restoring trust between communities, institutions, the media, and how that trust is the foundation of democracy. It was a morning of joyful and thought-provoking conversation about the important role of journalism, and I’m so grateful for the thoughtful intention they bring to their work. If you are not a regular WSHU listener, I highly recommend giving them a listen, and Morning Edition is a great place to start!
