Dear Neighbor,

Summer is fully underway. While this season is a wonderful time to be outdoors with friends and family, it can also potentially be dangerous. The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) shared a graphic that details protective measures you can take to keep you and your loved ones safe. I encourage you to check it out to ensure that you are protected this summer!

Westport Delegation Releases Statement on Antisemitic Flyers Found in Local Neighborhood

It was devastating to hear the news that antisemitic flyers were discovered in driveways of homes in Westport. The distribution of similar  flyers has become an unfortunate trend throughout the state. The Westport delegation,  state Senator Ceci Maher and state Representatives Jonathan Steinberg and I, released a joint statement earlier this week.

“We vehemently condemn another incident of hateful propaganda in our community. We have no tolerance for hate speech against any person or group, based on race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, country of origin, gender identity, or any other affiliation. A hateful action against one Westporter is an attack on us all and we are grateful for the Westport Police and ADL for their vigilance as this incident is investigated.”

Norwalk Community Meeting August 2

The Norwalk Redevelopment Agency will hold a virtual meeting on August 2 to introduce the Sustainability and Resilience Plan project to the community. The Redevelopment Agency for the City of Norwalk is working with a consultant to develop a Sustainability and Resilience Plan that will serve as a roadmap for the City to use to implement a clearly defined and equitable set of sustainability goals as outlined within the City's Plan of Conservation and Development.

Backpack Drive Recap
Thank you to all of the wonderful residents who were able to drop off school supplies to last week's backpack drive! It was a great success - many young students will benefit from your selflessness.
