Dear Neighbor,

I'm thrilled to share that the Right to Counsel Program - which provides income-eligible tenants with a free lawyer to represent them if they are facing eviction or loss of their housing subsidy - has expanded to the residents of Groton!

After hearing from a Groton constituent who did not have access to legal services for eviction proceedings, I worked with directors of the Connecticut Bar Foundation to secure residents access to this critical program.

The absolute last thing a person facing a housing crisis should deal with is whether they can afford a lawyer. I couldn't be prouder to assist in expanding this program, and I look forward to the program being expanded even further. Thank you again to the constituent that got the ball rolling, and to the various directors of the Connecticut Bar Foundation that were of immense help throughout.
