I was delighted to see that Groton's own Marine Science Magnet High School was recently named by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools. This award is given to schools across the country for demonstrating overall high achievement or success in closing achievement gaps.

MSMHS's strong performance on the Next Generation Accountability System has garnered the School of Distinction status for the fourth consecutive year. Nearly all Grade 9 students were projected to have an on-time graduation at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, and the four-year graduation rate that year was 100% - a remarkable achievement.

The care and effort that MSMHS puts in the success of every student is what makes it such an exceptional school. Congratulations again to Marine Science Magnet High School on your much-deserved recognition, and I look forward to your continued success.
