Funding for Enfield

October 6, 2023

I'm pleased to share with you that the Enfield Housing Authority and the Tobacco Valley Development Corporation (TVDC) have received $11,269,365 in funding for the Enfield Manor & Extension project.

This grant, provided by the Community Investment Fund 2030 (CIF), will replace rapidly deteriorating senior and disabled housing at Enfield Terrace. The 80 affordable housing units are at risk of failure, with six currently uninhabitable. These units will be replaced with 99 new housing units contained in two buildings.

CIF Grant

CIF aims to foster economic development in historically underserved communities across Connecticut. The program will award up to $875 million to eligible municipalities, as well as not-for-profit organizations and community development corporations that operate within them.

I am deeply grateful to everyone involved in securing this grant-- in particular, I'd like to thank Governor Ned Lamont, Speaker of the House Matt Ritter, and the CIF board members. They have recognized the true impact and significance of this project. Once completed, it will meet the needs of our underserved seniors, veterans, and disabled individuals.
