New Business Opens & Drug Take Back Day

October 25, 2023

We continue to see signs of progress and revitalization in downtown Waterbury. Please look below to see the latest new business to open in our community!

This weekend, you have an opportunity to get rid of unneeded prescription drugs safely and anonymously. Keep scrolling to find out where you can dispose of those old medications.

Grand Opening for New Business
We celebrated the grand opening of a brand new Dunkin Donuts in downtown Waterbury with some coffee and donuts of course! This business at 21 Union Street is proof of our continued revitalization in the 75th district.
It was a pleasure meeting the friendly staff who are looking forward to working in our neighborhood. The location on Union Street features a drive thru and on-the-go mobile ordering. Please stop by and support our local businesses!

National Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

The Waterbury Police Department will be holding its drive-thru style collection drive on Saturday, October 28 from 10 A.M. - 2 P.M. at the Waterbury Health Department parking lot on 185 South Main Street.

If you look at the image above, you can see that with each drug take back event, more prescription medication is being disposed of. We hope to break another record on Saturday, so please come out!
