Two nonprofits in the 75th district are getting major financial support to better serve the people of our community. Waterbury Youth Services will receive $200,000 to improve its facilities, and Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury will receive $75,000 for an ADA ramp for its domestic violence shelter.
Waterbury Youth Services (WYS) helps young people learn skills to be more successful at home, in school, and in the community. WYS offers a variety of programs, such as mentoring, youth employment, and juvenile justice prevention. Their mission is to guide youth to discover their unique talents and potential.
Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury provides crisis and support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Their vision is a world where people live free from suffering. All services are confidential, free, and available 24/7.
