State Grant Secured for Tarrywile Park in Danbury

July 16, 2025

Dear Neighbors,

I’m excited to share that Tarrywile Park in Danbury has been awarded a state grant to protect and preserve this incredible open space.

This funding, through the Urban Green and Community Gardens Grant Program, will help create a vibrant space for residents to grow food, gather, and enjoy nature. The grant will fund a new community garden, fencing, rain barrels, bioswales to manage stormwater, public art, and new seating to make the park more welcoming and sustainable for everyone.

As your State Representative, I led a letter of support for this application, joined by members of the Danbury delegation, because Tarrywile is not only a beautiful park, it’s a vital part of our district and our region. I’m proud to represent it and fight for its future.

A big thank you to Governor Lamont for recognizing the importance of protecting open space in our community, and to Council President Duane Perkins for his strong local partnership in getting this done.

When we work together, we make progress.
