Food Hub Funding Approved

November 15, 2016

There are many residents that have transportation difficulties and cannot get to locations to buy the fresh food that will be available at this hub. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this center will have on the district and residents in the area.

The Brass City Harvest Regional Food Hub on South Main Street will be a multi-faceted facility that will incorporate processing and production space and a distribution and retail food market. It is expected to create 24 permanent jobs.

$1.7 million was approved by the State Bond Commission in a meeting held on Tuesday, November 15th. The Brass City Harvest Regional Food Hub is on Bond Commission Agenda Item #28.
