If you, or someone you know, does not have health insurance, pass the word: The enrollment period in the state health insurance exchange, Access Health CT, is open and ends on Jan. 31. If you want coverage to start on Jan. 1, you must complete your renewal or new application by Dec. 15.

If you choose to enroll, you will be guaranteed the benefits that all insurance companies are required by law to provide for those they insure. These benefits include preventative services, lab tests, prescription drugs, pediatric services, emergency room visits, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and services and devices to help you recover after an illness or injury.
