Mike Demicco

In 2012, Mike Demicco won a seat in the General Assembly as the representative for Farmington and Unionville's 21st Assembly District. His leadership roles include Deputy Majority Leader and committee member for Environment, Public Health, Energy & Technology, along with Higher Education and Employment Advancement.

Previously, Mike dedicated four terms to the Farmington Town Council, where he contributed to the Elderly Tax Relief, Ethics Ordinance, and Legal Services Subcommittees. His community engagement extended as a liaison to the Water Pollution Control Authority and participation in several UCONN Health Center committees, as well as the Stephen Flis Scholarship Committee.

Prior to becoming a state representative, Mike worked in the legislature's Public Safety & Security Committee. He also worked in the Commerce Committee, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Municipal Opportunities and Regional Efficiencies, and the Task Force on Law Enforcement’s Response to Family Violence.

Mike's passion for education led him to teach history at the high school and middle school levels before his political career. When his children were young, he embraced the role of a stay-at-home father, actively participating in the East Farms School P.T.O., volunteering at the school library, and supporting early education as a tutor for the Kindergarten Acceleration Program.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in 1980, where he majored in the Interdisciplinary College of Social Studies Program (History, Economics, and Government).

A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Mike has called Farmington home since 1991, where he enjoys life with his wife Brenda. Together they have two daughters, Emily and Katie.
