Pension Disability Reform
Today, Comptroller Sean Scanlon announced a series of reforms that will strengthen our disability pension program for those who truly need it and give their office the tools they need to detect, investigate, and eliminate potential abuse within the system.
Overall, the system is working, and disabled former state employees receive the pensions they need and deserve.
But a complex series of rules and rulings must be changed in order for it to work better.
Together, we can fix this important system.
Now is the time.
