Meeting with District 1199
This week I had the great opportunity to meet with District 1199 Member Regional Meeting and have dialog on the importance of Nursing Homes, Community Programs, Homecare workers, State Workers and hear stories from members and answer questions.
District 1199 represents 25,000 healthcare workers in Connecticut who provide healthcare and long term care in a number of public and private settings throughout the state. At this meeting, you will have the opportunity to hear from long term care workers in nursing homes, PCA's who provide care in home, non-profit group home workers, and public sector healthcare workers about a number of similar issues ranging from low staffing levels; low pay and little to no benefits; and overall low quality of care in the healthcare sector.
