Dear Neighbor,
National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
Take a moment this week and reflect on the more than 2,400, U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Army service members and civilians killed during the unprovoked attack on December 7, 1941, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
As we pay tribute to individual lives lost 82 years ago. We recognize them for their bravery and selflessness in the wake of perilous horror.
18 of the service members killed during Pearl Harbor were from our great state of Connecticut.

Happy Hanukkah!

Columbarium Ceremony
This week I Joined the CGA for a brief ceremony at the Columbarium as we place wreaths to remember the nation’s fallen, honor their service, and teach the next generation about the sacrifices made for us to live freely. Thank you to Superintendent/Rear Admiral Johnston, the leadership and Cadets that made this great event possible.
 
Rollin' with Rep. Nolan with the CT Pardon Team!
I was delighted to be joined by Katie Caldwell of the Connecticut Pardon Team, Inc. to talk about the process of obtaining a pardon. Many people make mistakes when they're young that holds them back for the rest of their lives. By obtaining a pardon, you have more access to housing, job opportunities, and a better life. I hope you'll take a look at this video and learn more about this life-changing organization.

New London Public Schools Ribbon Cutting
City of New London, Connecticut New London Public Schools had a great ribbon cutting this week. It's been a long ten years getting this project this far. Thank you to the many teams of hard workers, patience and commitment. We are extremely grateful for the amazing work our children finally can enjoy & deserve.
 
Please join me and the Connecticut Justice Alliance next Tuesday, December 12 from 6-7:30 pm at the City of New London, Connecticut @Shiloh Family Life Center (3 Garvin St, New London) for a Justice and Safety For All Discussion. We will have an open and honest discussion about how to support young people who have committed serious offenses, increasing public safety, and how the youth justice system impacts us all. This is a critical conversation to have, and I hope to see you there!
 
New London Mayer and City Councilors Sworn In
City of New London, Connecticut
Mayor Michael Passero along with City Councilors Akil Peck , John Satti Councilor Reona Dyess, Efraín Domínguez Alma Nartatez, Jocelyn Rosario and Jeffrey Hart were sworn in this week. Congratulations to you all.
 
London Board of Education Swearing In
Congratulations to the City of New London, Connecticut , New London Public Schools Board of Education on the swearing in of BOE Members this week. Thank you to BOE members Bianca Alexis-Sylvain, Nathan Caron, Danni Cruz, Bryan Doughty, Elaine Maynard-Adams, Susan Hambey and Alisha Blake for standing up to make change.
 
Business Improvement Grant Program
Grant Improvement. Receive up to $10,000 with the Small B.I.G (Business Improvement Grant) Program provided by the City of New London, Connecticut
Applications are reviewed at the end of each month and applicants will receive notice by the 15th of the following month. The grant will close when all money has been awarded. This is a reimbursement grant.

A Magical Evening Of Giving Event
We had a great time at the City of New London, Connecticut New London Elks for the Safe Futures Magical Evening Of Giving. It was so great to see so many people come out and support the holiday tree auction to benifit Safe Futures. Thank you to everyone who participated, bid on trees and helped make this a great event.

City of New London, Connecticut Shiloh Life Center New Middle School Program "TEEN THRIVE HUB" – a space dedicated to helping teens and their families build a foundation for health and harmony.
Our new program is designed for Middle School Teens (grades 6, 7,8), and their Caregivers. Teen Thrive Hub is sponsored by The Shiloh Development Corporation and will be led by a team, Rev. Aracelis Haye and Grace Carlos.. Monthly local experts and practitioners will be invited to facilitate discussions, community-building, and support, all while enjoying shared meals and activities. The program is crafted to create a space where teens and their parents (caregivers). can build a foundation for health and harmony.
