HARTFORD CT – Speaker of the House Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) and House Majority Leader Jason Rojas (D-East Hartford, Manchester) have announced the appointment of Rep. Corey Paris (D-Stamford) as House Chair of the Committee on Children.
“Corey believes in public service and leadership,” Speaker Ritter said. “He is committed to ensuring the best care and services for Connecticut’s children as chair of the Children’s Committee.”
“Representative Paris has been a passionate voice for children and families as a legislator and in his career outside of elected office. Early childhood education and childcare for families are essential services that families need to ensure their economic security. These policy areas will receive significant attention over the next two years and Rep. Paris’ work in the field will ensure that any proposed legislation is designed by the Children’s Committee to maximize outcomes for children, families, and our communities,” Majority Leader Rojas said.
“As Chair of the Children’s Committee, I am honored to have the trust and support of Speaker Ritter and Majority Leader Rojas. I am committed to advancing policies that uplift and protect our youngest residents and their families. Together, we will work to address the challenges facing children in our state and create opportunities that ensure every child can thrive,” Rep. Paris said.
Rep. Paris was elected to the Connecticut General Assembly’s 145th House District during a special election in 2021.
