Dear Neighbor,

What a great turnout for my Spring Lake Village Cookies and Coffee Legislative Q&A! I am glad the residents had an opportunity to hear about the work we are doing in Hartford on their behalf, shared their concerns, and asked a number of good, appropriate questions. I remain committed to advocating for Southington's seniors. Thanks to all who attended and a special shout out to Blair Gianatti, owner of Endless Sweets Bakery, for providing the cookies.

Please continue reading below for other noteworthy items, and thanks as always for taking the time to read them!

Visting Bread for Life

This week I was excited to be invited by Donna Ayer to visit Bread For Life and learn about the good work the organization is doing on behalf of Southington residents who are most in need. In addition to touring its beautiful facility on Vermont Avenue, I was able to chat with lunch guests and learn about the spectrum of services that Bread For Life provides to them. Thank you, Donna and team, for the invite. I look forward to celebrating with Bread For Life's 40th anniversary later this year.

Business Breakfast Forum

It was a delight to attend the Southington Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast Business Forum, at which all members of the Southington legislative delegation had the opportunity to share the good work we have done during the Committee Process and how we will support our town’s small businesses and residents as we continue through the legislative session. Thank you to the Chamber for offering yet another opportunity to meet, speak with, and learn from your members.

Veterans Legislative Q&A

Attention Veterans! On April 19 at 10 a.m., I am happy to announce that in partnership with the Southington Veterans Committee, we will welcome the Commissioner Roland Welch of the Department of Veterans Affairs to the Calendar House for our annual Veterans Coffee Hour.  At the event, we will review current legislation and share resources that Connecticut makes available to our Veterans. Hope to see you there!

Kick It with Us!

Mark your calendars and head to Dunkin' Park in Hartford on Monday at 4:30 p.m. for the Third Annual CGA Kickball Classic!

Proceeds will benefit the Earl E. Exum Memorial Fund as well as The Pink Fund.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the gate or at rb.gy/b1727n.

Dunkin' Park is cashless and the parking lot directly across from the stadium is no longer accessible, but there is plenty of parking around Dunkin' Park. You can find parking options at milb.com/hartford/ballpark/parking-transit, however, make sure you have cash on you to pay for it.
