The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) recognized State Rep. Geraldo Reyes for his support and advocacy of environmental initiatives in their 2019 Environmental Scorecard. Rep. Reyes earned a 100% rating according to CTLCV.

“I’m proud to stand up for Connecticut’s natural resources,” Rep. Reyes said. “Connecticut is at the forefront of environmental policy initiatives, especially environmental justice in our cities like Waterbury.”

The annual environmental scorecard grades state lawmakers based on how they vote on significant environmental legislation. This year, the Legislature took action to ban plastic shopping bags, ban fracking waste and enacted the State Water Plan.

“The 2019 session was a major year for environmental policy in Connecticut, with the passage of the new plastic bag restrictions and greater investments into renewable energies,” said Lori Brown, Executive Director of CTLCV.

Rep. Reyes was also named a 2019 Environmental Champion from Citizens Campaign for the Environment and was recognized for standing up for climate and energy equity for all.
