Congratulations to the Clemente All-Star Champions!
July 11, 2025
For the first time in more than two decades, a Little League All-Star team from Waterbury took the field – and not only did they show up, but they also made history. The Waterbury Roberto Clemente 12 and Under (12U) All-Stars, made up mostly of boys from the South End of Waterbury, captured the District 3 Championship through a powerful combination of teamwork, talent, heart, and determination.
Nearly 700 fans filled the stands in Shelton to witness the title game, where Waterbury delivered a commanding 9-1 victory over Seymour. With that win, the Clemente All-Stars advanced to the Connecticut Sectional round, one step closer to the dream of every Little Leaguer: the Little League World Series. Come out and support our boys against Simsbury on Saturday, July 12 at 5 p.m. at Memorial Park in Southington (1776 Woodruff Road)!
This is a moment of immense pride for all the families, friends, and neighbors who have cheered these boys on from the very beginning. Congratulations to the entire Clemente 12U team and the greater Waterbury community for showing our kids what it means to believe in them.
As one of the founders, a donor, and league advisor of the Roberto Clemente Little League, I could not be more proud of this organization – from the dedicated coaches and volunteers to the 248 kids we serve. In just two years, we've doubled in size, and our momentum continues to grow exponentially.
This season, we also launched our brand-new Pamper Baseball League for children six and under. With 50 little ones stepping up to the plate for the very first time, the future of baseball in Waterbury is brighter than ever.
This championship is about more than a trophy – it's about opportunity, community, and what's possible when we invest in our youth. Let's keep building!
