Roundtable on Roe v. Wade

July 17, 2018

My colleagues in the House Dems and I are planning a roundtable discussion on the legal landscape of abortion laws in Connecticut; including what would happen in Connecticut if Roe v. Wade were to be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The retirement of Justice Kennedy has raised a number of questions about the future of reproductive rights in our country. It is our intention to have a frank discussion about Connecticut’s laws and regulations so that we are prepared to defend reproductive rights in this state, if necessary.

The roundtable, which will occur in the coming weeks, will include a breakdown and analysis of Connecticut’s laws and regulations on abortion and reproductive rights by policy experts, legal scholars and lawmakers.

Participants are expected to include Rep. Robyn Porter, Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey, Rep. Hilda Santiago, Rep. Liz Linehan, Rep. Christine Conley, Rep. Caroline Simmons, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood.
