COVID-19 Update

As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, 26,767 positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Connecticut. Day-to-day changes reflect newly reported cases, deaths, and tests that occurred over the last several days to week. All data in this report are preliminary; data for previous dates will be updated as new reports are received and data errors are corrected. CTDOL Launches Website to Track Unemployment Data

The Connecticut Department of Labor launched a website breaking down data on people who have filed for unemployment in the state by age, industry, gender, and town. This publicly available information will provide insight to municipal and state governments for planning and budgeting purposes, and for developing responsible strategies to reopen the state.

The website was developed by the agency's Office of Research to track unemployment data from January 2015 to April 2020. Data from April 2020 is preliminary.

New Haven Rapid Testing Site Taking Appointments 7 Days a Week

The CVS Health and State of Connecticut rapid COVID-19 testing site in New Haven continues to take appointments 7 days a week. Results are given in 30 minutes and provided at no cost. 

Individuals who want to be tested does not need a referral from medical professional, however individuals must schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the test site.

Women-Owned Business Town Hall Thursday

Tomorrow, April 30, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Lt. Gov. Bysiewicz will hold a Town Hall event for Small Women-Owned Businesses to discuss federal and state efforts to assist employers and employees impacted by COVID-19. She will be joined by leaders from state and federal agencies such as the U.S. Small Business Administration, state Department of Labor, state Department of Economic and Community Development, leaders from local chambers of commerce and more.

CTCARES For Frontline Workers
