BPRC Leaders Pleading for Federal Help for PR

September 26, 2017

As leaders of the legislature’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus (BPRC), our vice-chair, Rep. Brandon McGee (D-Hartford/Windsor) and I, today sent a letter to Connecticut’s Congressional Delegation in Washington, DC pleading for federal help for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria which left total devastation on the island.

According to reports coming from San Juan and the office of the governor, federal assistance has been slow in coming as the majority of the island continues to be in the dark with minimal basic essentials for residents’ daily survival.
