Help For Families Arriving From Puerto Rico

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration has identified $75,000 in state funding that it will use to provide housing support for residents of Puerto Rico who have relocated to Connecticut following the recent earthquakes that have devastated the island and left many displaced.

The aid comes through the Connecticut Department of Housing and will be granted to several nonprofits that will administer the funding, including Alpha Community Services in Bridgeport, Casa Otoñal in New Haven, Hispanic Coalition in Waterbury, and the San Juan Center in Hartford. Funds will be used for security deposits and rental assistance.

Hoy, el Gobernador Ned Lamont anuncio que su administración ha identificado $75,000 en fondos estatales designados para proveer asistencia de vivienda a ciudadanos de Puerto Rico que se han mudado a Connecticut debido a los recientes terremotos que han afectado a la isla, dejando a muchos sin hogar.

La asistencia proviene del Departamento Estatal de Vivienda y será otorgada a varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro que administraran los fondos, incluyendo a Alpha Community Services en Bridgeport, Casa Otoñal en New Haven, el Hispanic Coalition en Waterbury, y el San Juan Center en Hartford. Estos fondos serán utilizados para asistencia de renta y depósitos de seguridad.
